Baptisms
On Easter Sunday and other occasions through the year we renew our Baptismal promises, reminding us of the significance of our own Baptism and how it is embedded in the life of the Christian community, the Church.
Parents seeking Baptism for their child, coming as they do from different places in the terms of faith and motivation, need the care and outreach of a welcoming faith community.
Dundrum Parish as a welcoming community, endeavours to support you in making the faith decision to baptise your child into the Catholic Faith.
Our Baptismal Team offer support through home visits, our monthly Baptism Preparation Meeting, Welcoming Mass and their involvement in the celebration of Baptism.
As a faith family we welcome and pray our new sisters and brothers to our parish at a Sunday Welcoming Mass.
This ceremony of welcome and anointing takes place on the Sunday after the parents meeting.
Baptism will be celebrated as usual over the following weeks by one of our Priests or Deacon Gabriel.
Ideally, Baptism takes place in the parish where you live and worship, where Confirmation and Holy Communion will be celebrated.
At least six weeks’ notice of Baptism is required.
