While they were eating, Jesus took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and giving it to his disciples said, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins.”
(Matthew 26-28).
The Eucharist completes Christian initiation.
Celebration of the Eucharist in our Parish
The Eucharist is celebrated on Monday – Saturday at 10.30 am.
Mass of the Sunday is celebrated on Saturday evening at 6.00pm (Vigil), Sunday morning at 9.00 am, 10.30am (Family Mass) and 12.00 pm.
First Holy Communion
First Holy Communion preparation involves home, school and parish working together.
In September a meeting of parents is held, to pray and reflect on the year ahead and the decision to present your child for Holy Communion preparation.
We will begin the period of preparation for your children’s First Holy Communion and First Confession with a special Enrolment Ceremony.
All families are asked to bring their child to Sunday Mass and each month we have a special preparation Mass.
We use the BRIDGE Preparation programme and Family Newsletter.
A parents’ group support the running of the programme alongside Annette Farrell, our Faith Development Coordinator.
Our Holy Communion celebration takes place in the Sunday Mass in April or May each year, family, school parish coming together.
